Recently, CCTV News reported that CHN Energy's Batuta Hydrogen Refueling Station in Ordos, Inner Mongolia-China's first heavy-haul railway hydrogen refueling station-has officially entered commercial operation, marking another breakthrough in China's hydrogen energy applications.
The Batuta station can operate continuously around the clock in harsh conditions as low as -25°C, providing stable and reliable hydrogen refueling services for heavy-haul locomotives. A single refueling enables a locomotive to run for 8 consecutive hours, with an empty-load range of up to 800 km. Once in operation, the station is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 800 tonnes per year, strongly supporting the green development of heavy-haul railways and holding great significance for green transportation and the "dual carbon" goals.
Notably, the core equipment at the Batuta station is a 45 MPa, 500 kg-class hydraulic-driven hydrogen refueling station compressor manufactured by Qingdao Compress. As early as 2019, Compress's independently developed hydrogen refueling station compressor achieved independent intellectual property rights and 100% localization of components, successfully breaking foreign technological monopolies and resolving the bottleneck issue in hydrogen refueling station compressors. Compress has established close partnerships with well-known upstream and downstream enterprises in China's hydrogen energy industry chain, including CHN Energy, Sinopec, Shandong Port Group, China Three Gorges Corporation, and Pengfei Group.
